The Board of Directors of Calliope Women's Chorus is thrilled to announce the hiring of a new Music Director!
"Maren Amdal, brings to this position almost twenty years of experience singing with and leading choral groups. As a dynamic singer/songwriter and performance artist with an established practice in vocal training, Ms. Amdal has the musical expertise and teaching ability necessary to enable the Chorus to reach its full potential and maintain the high quality of performances for which the organization is known. In addition, Ms. Amdal has experience and training in marketing and public relations that will be invaluable to the Chorus as we seek to rebuild our membership, increase our visibility in the community, and ultimately increase our audience and support network." says Board President, Betsy Kerr.
Being hired in November 2006, Ms. Amdal is joining the chorus during a time of transition and growth. She says, "I am so pleased to have been selected to work with this amazing group of women. Though challenges lie ahead, I look forward to the coming months as we work together to meet our goals, both as a social justice organization and a musical ensemble. It is an honor to have the opportunity to join and lead this organization through this landmark year of transition and transformation."
