Director
Krystal Stark

Many people regret never learning or discontinuing to play an instrument, and some regret not participating at all. Creating life-long music makers is one of the primary goals for Dr. Krystal Stark in her work as an educator and conductor. A native of Kansas City, Krystal received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Wichita State University in Music Education. She began her career teaching high school and middle school choir in Kansas. Following her master’s degree, Krystal and her wife moved to Alabama to pursue her doctorate education, during which she continued to teach in the public schools.
Krystal has taught music in public schools for grades pre-kindergarten through high school, conducted university and church ensembles, taught methods and vocal pedagogy courses, and presented original research on multicultural music at the National American Choral Directors Association Conference.
Following Krystal’s graduation from the University of Alabama in May 2017, the Twin Cities area seemed like a perfect fit for her family’s social and cultural values. So they packed up and moved across the country! Now, Krystal and her wife enjoy their spare time with their two children, two-year-old Aeris and newborn Leto. They like taking them to the park and the science museum. In her creative time, Krystal enjoys taking photographs, crafting jewelry, and drawing.
