STAND TOGETHER: CALLIOPE WOMEN’S CHORUS SPRING CONCERT

Celebrating Women, Solidarity, and the Beauty of the Earth

SAINT PAUL, MINN., March 19, 2014: Calliope Women’s Chorus will be performing their spring concert, as well as holding their annual silent auction, on Saturday May 10th, 2014, 7:30 pm, at the Lyric Building, 765 North Hampden Ave, St. Paul (corner of University and Hampden, approx. 2270 West University). Director Richard Carrick will lead the singers of Calliope in a full-length program that focuses on music celebrating the beauty of the earth, love won and lost, and hope and empowerment. The music of Calliope is dedicated to freedom, solidarity, and equality among women and the LGBTQ community. The concert is free, but free-will donations are accepted an

d appreciated. All money raised will go toward Calliope’s outreach programs and other expenses. Calliope is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The annual spring silent auction is Calliope’s primary fundraising event. Review and bidding on silent auction items will begin half hour before the concert, at 7:00 pm, and will continue at intermission. This year, the auction features items such as a year of monthly homemade desserts, restaurant and retail gift certificates, luxury gift baskets, and beautiful handmade items.  Items will be available for pickup immedi

ately following the concert. Please bring cash or a checkbook. All proceeds go directly to supporting the chorus and its outreach mission. Calliope has grown into a performance outreach group that celebrates the voices, power, strength, and diversity of women. Calliope uses music as a catalyst for change, promoting peace, social justice, equality, and freedom. Calliope welcomes new members and encourages all interested women to audition for the chorus for the 2014–2015 season. Auditions will be held May 27th, and again in the fall.
