Singer Spotlight: Caissa Casarez

We’re celebrating the 50 amazing soprano and alto voices that make up our choir by featuring Calliope members on our blog!

Caissa Casarez | Alto 2

Length of time in Calliope: About a month. I’m a new kid!

Day job: Production assistant and associate director of Almanac and Almanac at the Capitol at Twin Cities PBS.

My theme song is: “Run The World (Girls)” by Beyoncé. Because, well, Beyoncé.

My favorite pastime (besides singing) is: Reading. I’ll list running someday, too.

The best movie ever made is: “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”! Quotes for days.

What gets me up in the morning is: Getting to make a difference in the world at work—and getting to come home to my partner after we did the long distance thing for a year.

What I love most about singing with Calliope is: The community! Everyone’s already made me feel so welcome.

What I’m most excited about this season is: Performing again! It’s been a while since I’ve sang or played in a group so I’m excited for that. 🙂
